The Safe Environment Policy has been established in an effort to protect our young children from sexual abuse.
In Saint Paul’s first letter to the Corinthians he called the members of that local Church and each of us in our own day to “Be on your guard, stand firm in the faith, be courageous, be strong. Your every act should be done with love.” (1Cor.16:13-140).
It is our responsibility as adults to make sure that we do all that we can to protect our youth. If you are interested in volunteering at Saints Peter and Paul school and/or parish in any capacity, it is a requirement that all documents be on file in our offices. Please click on the page that is connected to our Safe Environment menu and read carefully, the directions to place your application on the Diocesan database. The following forms must be on file in the school office before anyone can participate in activities with the students:
Application on the Diocesan database at www.diopitt.org.
Police Clearance (No cost to volunteers)
Child Abuse Clearance (No cost to volunteers)
Attend Protecting God’s Children class (On line)
Act 126 Reporting Child Abuse (On line)
Fingerprints or signed Affidavit for non-arrest
Read (on-line) and Sign the Code of Pastoral Conduct booklet
Read (on-line) and Sign the “Reporting of Child Abuse and the Child’s Protective Services Law of Pennsylvania booklet.
Again, all certifications and forms can be taken on line. Once you have registered on the Diocesan database you will automatically be searched for a Police clearance.
