There are a few things that are happening that you should know about. This past week we had combined meetings from both Pastoral and Finance Councils. We're starting to move toward a combined council for our grouping.
You may not know this, but because of parish situations where people had access to money, the Diocese requires very tight controls on how the money is collected, handled and counted. It may seem intrusive and insulting, but really, it's for everyone's safety. If the controls are followed, then no one can ever say that "He", "She", "They" or "that priest" had access or the means to take money. It's for everyone's good. One of the things we're adapting in our grouping is the sheet the money counters use. We will soon all use the same system. That way, any counter will be easily able to help at any of the offices.
EITC is a loophole offered for businesses and individuals that make a certain amount of money. Because of that, part of their tax payment can go to a religious school like Quigley, Saints Peter and Paul or any of our Catholic Schools. If you have to pay the taxes anyway, might as well help the Church. Call any Catholic School for specifics.
